@midhu9999, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing battery drain issues with your HP laptop. Let's go through a few steps to diagnose and resolve this:
Check Battery Health
HP provides a built-in tool to check your battery's condition.
- Press Esc repeatedly while turning on the laptop to open the Startup Menu.
- Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Select Component Tests > Power > Battery.
- Run the Battery Check and note the results.
You can also use the HP Support Assistant:
- Download or open it from here: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
Adjust Power Settings
- Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery.
- Set Power Mode to Best Power Efficiency.
- Under Battery Usage, identify apps consuming excessive power and disable them if not needed.
Update BIOS and Drivers
Outdated BIOS or drivers can cause battery issues.
- Visit the HP Support page.
- Enter your laptop model and download the latest:
- BIOS
- Chipset drivers
- Graphics drivers
- HP Power Manager (if available)
Disable Background Apps
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Go to the Startup tab and disable unnecessary apps.
- Also, check the Processes tab for apps using high CPU or battery.
Enable Battery Saver Mode
- Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery.
- Turn on Battery Saver when battery is below a certain percentage.
Optional: Perform a Battery Calibration
Sometimes recalibrating the battery helps:
- Charge the battery to 100%, then let it discharge completely.
- Recharge it to 100% without interruption.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
