@midhu9999, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing battery drain issues with your HP laptop. Let's go through a few steps to diagnose and resolve this:

Check Battery Health

HP provides a built-in tool to check your battery's condition.

  1. Press Esc repeatedly while turning on the laptop to open the Startup Menu.
  2. Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  3. Select Component Tests > Power > Battery.
  4. Run the Battery Check and note the results.

You can also use the HP Support Assistant:

Adjust Power Settings

  1. Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery.
  2. Set Power Mode to Best Power Efficiency.
  3. Under Battery Usage, identify apps consuming excessive power and disable them if not needed.

Update BIOS and Drivers

Outdated BIOS or drivers can cause battery issues.

  • Visit the HP Support page.
  • Enter your laptop model and download the latest:
    • BIOS
    • Chipset drivers
    • Graphics drivers
    • HP Power Manager (if available)

Disable Background Apps

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Go to the Startup tab and disable unnecessary apps.
  3. Also, check the Processes tab for apps using high CPU or battery.

Enable Battery Saver Mode

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery.
  • Turn on Battery Saver when battery is below a certain percentage.

Optional: Perform a Battery Calibration

Sometimes recalibrating the battery helps:

  1. Charge the battery to 100%, then let it discharge completely.
  2. Recharge it to 100% without interruption.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
