Hi @meghaachanchal,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Laptop freezing issues can be particularly troublesome, often appearing when pressure is applied or when moving the device. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can perform to identify and resolve these issues:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the computer.
  • Disconnect the AC adapter.
  • Remove any discs from the disc drive and any memory cards from the reader slot.
  • Disconnect all non-essential peripheral devices, such as printers and external drives.
  • With the AC adapter unplugged, press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter and turn on the computer.

Check for Overheating:

  • Clean air vents and ensure dust is not blocking them. Use compressed air to blow out dust. Overheating can cause freezes, especially if vents are blocked.

Update Device Drivers:

Close Unresponsive Applications:

  • Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to close applications that are not responding. Look for high resource usage and unresponsive applications.

Run Windows Update:

  • Ensure your system is up-to-date by installing critical updates through Windows Update.

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows app to check for hardware issues. Run an Extensive Test to thoroughly check all components.

Restore the Computer:

  • If freezing issues persist, consider using Microsoft System Restore to revert to a previous state when the laptop was functioning correctly.

Check for Loose Components:

  • If physical pressure causes issues, check for any loose components that might be affecting connectivity internally. This might require professional help if you're not comfortable opening the laptop.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
