@new_retro10,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

There is not a whole lot of information available for your Compaq Presario V3000 Notebook PC other than this link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01037981.pdf.

An Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9300 is only compatible with PGA478 and BGA479 sockets, whereas your laptop is only compatible with PPGA478 and PBGA479 socket processors, such as the Intel Core Duo T7100 up to the Intel Core Duo T7800 with a 35-watt TDP limit: https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Core_2_Duo_Mobile/T7300_(Socket_P).html.

You can purchase an Intel Core Duo T7800 via eCommerce sites like eBay.  Here is a purchase example to take a look at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/154360755987?epid=86107006&hash=item23f09e3713%3Ag%3ATjgAAOSwX1VgQ0ux&amdat....

Hope this was helpful.
