Hi:
Intel and Microsoft do not support any platform with the Kaby Lake chipsets and 7th gen core processors for any other operating system but W10.
Intel only developed W10 graphics drivers.
So, that is why HP only has W10 drivers listed on the support page.
The last Intel platform that you could install W7 on, and have W7 driver support was those with the Skylake chipset and 6th gen core processors.
I do not work for or represent HP, but why do you think not having W7 drivers for your model is HP's problem, when they don't exist?
Now with that out of the way, before I help you get the drivers you need (they do exist, but you have to look in many places for them), you need to get the graphics to work on W7--and the only way to do that would be to try this modded W10 driver at the discussion below (see Bruce BTS' post).
If the modded graphics driver works for you, let me know, and I will help you find the rest of the drivers you need.
Your notebook comes with a DVD burner, so burn the chipset, modded graphics driver, ethernet and USB3 drivers to a DVD.
Chipset: The 2nd file down on the left side of the page is the auto install file. Install this driver first and restart the PC.
Ethernet: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W7 driver at the link below.
USB3: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the driver at the link below...

You're very welcome.
There was an 1980's Oldsmobile car commercial, which praised the new 1989 Olds model lineup as 'This is not your father's Oldsmobile.'
You can apply that simile to the PC you have in your possession.
It has moved on from Windows 7/8, and W8.1.
BTW, here are the links to the W7 Wifi and Bluetooth drivers for the model wifi adapter your notebook has...
This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE wireless LAN Controller in the supported models running a supported operating system.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp82501-83000/sp82801.exe
This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek Bluetooth in the supported notebook/laptop models that are running a supported operating system.

i have 40 years of Servers / San / NAS / Network administration,( i work on the HPE side of things.) i even own a win 10 laptop, best OS from Redmond so far, but i am trying to help a disabled /sick lady who will only be happy once her Win 2003 games run and on W10 they get fatal errors so i have no choice but downgrade... i got frustrated with the HP website but now all is good maybe.
And i get that it's not HP fault
thx again

Anytime, Andre.
Glad to have been of assistance.
If you got the graphics driver installed and you can adjust the screen resolution, etc, let me know, because there will be several other drivers that need to be installed, such as the SD card reader, Intel DPTF, Intel Management Engine Interface, 3D driveguard and whatnot.

i run the installer for the intel graphic and it fails with the expected not supported error except that it does not make an entry that i can browse to..
no entry for the below driver
C:\swsetup\sp78781\
it run exactly as the walkthru descibe but not entry to modify for that specific driver the other i installed (ethernet / wifi and bluethout are there ) but not the intel display driver
i followed this exactly until i could not

See if this works...
Download and save the graphics driver file but do not run it.
Download and install this free file utility. The 2nd one down on the top of the page is for 64 bit.
After you install 7-zip, right click on the driver file you downloaded.
Have 7-Zip Extract to: and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp78781).
Now there should be a complete file folder with the files that you can modify per the instructions given.
Then just run the setup application inside the driver folder once you modified the setup information file.

Here are most of them off the top of my head...
Touchpad:
This package provides the driver that enables the Synaptics TouchPad in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The driver enables general touchpad functionality (for example double-tap and scroll) and provides a user interface.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81501-82000/sp81891.exe
Audio: Accept the agreement. Download and install the 2nd driver on the list and restart the PC.
Card reader: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the 1st file listed at the link below.
Intel management engine interface:
This package provides the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The Intel Management Engine Interface enables communication between the host operating system and the Intel Management Engine firmware.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75501-76000/sp75509.exe
Intel dyamic...
This package contains the driver that enables the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework firmware. Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework provide system temperature and power utilization information for the system thermal protection to function properly. This package is provided for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75501-76000/sp75506.exe
Again...all of this is a total waste of time if you can't get the graphics driver to work.
You posted that your friend wants to play games on the PC, and without the graphics driver installed, she will not be able to.
All she will get are errors and notifications that graphics acceleration is not enabled.
So, I hope that modded graphics driver does the trick.
