My laptop battery was holding a charge for about three quarter of a hour. ..then quickly deteriorated , now doesnt hold enough power to allow removal of adapter plug. Battery is hp prob the orighinal  made in 2008. I did test with hp diagnostic tool and results said it was ' Very weak' with full charge capacity of 472 mAh  ...and other significant finding was   that its primary cell number one had OmaV ... this cell cell amongst a readout saying that this was one of  4 cell findings...the other had average 3200 mAh.  Does this mean that that one cell failed . and this cell is possibly keeping the pack from charging. I hear that number one cell in the pack is usually the one that fails but i am thinking that this pack has 6 cells ...the readout saying that the pack had a 5100 mAh capacity ..at one time in the past. Are my interpretations correct?  thx, gary T, boise

You've got a very good battery. After 10 years of hard work, it's time to replace it.

Each battery can ONLY survice a number of charging cycles. 10 years or 3650 days and let's say you charged your machine every second day that means it went thru 1825 cycles. Too many too much.

Regards.
