Hello everyone ,I got a notebook Hp dv6-6b59el which ,unfortunately , doesn't seem to be working.
When you put the On/off button , it works only for the battery's indicator white light. This happens with the battery inserted into the laptop or even without battery but with the laptop connected to the electricity grid.
What do you think it might be?I made some unsuccesful tries, something like disassemble the battery from the bios , disassemble the ram and the hard disk , and double checked with the tester if there weren't unconnected cables , but without succes.
I'd like some other suggestions for making a dyagnosis , can you help me?Thank you beforhand

Welcome to HP support community.
Check with an alternate battery or power adapter and if nothing works that should be a hardware failure.
If the notebook boots with an alternate adapter, that should an issue with the adapter- replace the adapter to fix this issue.
Meanwhile:
Remove the battery and perform a hard reset.
-
Turn off the computer.
-
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
-
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
-
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
-
Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
-
With the battery and power cord unplugged, press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors.
-
Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the laptop, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
-
Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
-
If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.
I hope that helps.

Update the Bios and using HP Support Assistant.
Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
I hope that helps.

@nextech110 Apart from the LED always on, does the battery charge? is the adapter working fine? is the device running okay? please clarify,
Also, if everything is fine and the issue is only with the LED, we may need to get the LED replaced as it seems to be malfunctioning.
Keep me posted.
