pavilion battery problems and some other things

hi all

i have this laptop with a buggy battery i think

its not showing the battery and i think its not showing the charger or its not showing it very well,with the charger hooked up along side is a white led that blinks ,so i have installed the latest verision of the hp diagnostics tools they either dont work or kinda works,when you try to do the battery for say it just sits there does nothing,but yet its showing battery with 0 charge any ideas about the battery and how to get the tools working right?

since posting this i have found out several things about this laptop

the guy i got it from told me the folks he got it from bought it new (his daughter for school) she used it maybe a month then it got put in the closet and thats where it stayed for a longtime

so he (the guy i got it from) came along and got it 1st thing he did to it was upgrade windows along the way he discovered the battery was bad

so after updating it i come along and bought it from him ,yeah it might be older than what i had but its got alot less problems

so i took the battery to a shop down the street from me and had it checked to be sure about it,battery is for sure bad so i have got another on order and will be here in a day or 2,yeah its a offical HP battery im not using anything else can cause too many other problems

so yesterday when i tried to get on this windows decided to up date this thing again and it did so just about all day this morning when i got on it it did this again but not as long

it seems to me the more i use this the better its getting its getting where theres not so many bugs its doing better than it was

as far as i can tell everything is working like its supposed to except for the battery & once in a while it will shut off my screensaver when it does that all i do is go back redo my settings and it starts working again
