Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion x360 14m Convertible PCIMPORTANT! This document is intende...

Your notebook's M.2 slot only supports SATA M.2 SSD's, not NVMe.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types.

Hi Nikunj, well its good to know that your laptop model supported m.2 nvme.  I own the same model hp pavilion x360 14-ba073tx and i am also planning to upgrade the ssd. Can you please answer to below queries, it would help me to take decision,

1. Hows the nvme performance in your laptop and can you upload some pics of read and write speeds.  Did you notice any issues with it till date.

2. What is the nvme ssd capacity (128gb/256gb/512gb/1tb) you have installed. And can you share the exact brand n model of nvme ssd you have purchased.

3. Did you also try upgrading RAM. Laptops comes preinstalled with 8bg and has 1 slot left. Manual says 12gb max capacity but i ready online that some users are using 16gb (8gb 2 ram sticks).

4. Lastly, please add your extra points as information which i am missing here and could be of help for upgrading ssd and ram in hp pavilion x360 14-ba073tx.

An early response of your would be very helpful on these queries.

First I don't think I am the right person to answer all your questions. But I can provide the information now I have.

1. The reason for me to upgrade my laptop with a SSD was my laptop was performing extremely poor. And after upgrading it I did see a big difference in performance. In day to day task as well. As simple as opening MS Words. And no I have not faced any issue till now. I got faster boot up, fast installing of software updates.

2. I upgraded it with Kingston A2000 250Gb M.2 2280 Nvme SSD.

3. I did not upgrade the RAM. (Even 12Gb should be enough if you are not a very heavy user)

4. I don't know.

Hi, Thanks for the quick response. May i know why didn't you try 512gb or higher ssd. I mean i just wanna know whether its supported or not in our laptop. I am planning for either 512 or 1 TB nvme ssd. And are you running ssd + 1tb HD(which comes default with laptop) combination?

HP Recommended

Considering my requirement 250Gb was good enough for me. For now I am not sure if it supports 1Tb SSD or 500Gb. Yes I am using it with 1Tb HDD and 250Gb SSD combination.

Thank u for ur response buddy. I hv ordered 500gb crucial nvme. It comes with 7 days replacement. So will give it a try tomorrow. Works then fine else will replace and get 250gb.

And may I know how did u clone ur os and data from HDD to ssd?

Again thanks for ur quick responses.

Hi,

This is an update message which is gonna help many here for the laptop models HP Pavillion x360 14-ba000tx series. Major of the users are concerned about upgrading their laptop with ssd and more ram. HP User and Maintaince manual has confused many here including me, So i decided to try both and now sharing my experience and results to help users here.

1. Yes this model supports m2.nvme and laptop has 1 dedicated slot for this also. I have installed 500 gb nvme in my laptop and it is working pretty fine and i am booting my laptop from SSD with blazing speeds. Earlier my laptop used to take about 60 secs from company logo screen to password screen. After installing SSD, its taking at an avg of 12-15 sec time. Pretty help with the results. I am using the combination of both SSD 500 GB1.PNG2.PNG and HD 1TB.

Product using: CRUCIAL P1 500GB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD(CT500P1SSD8).

2. Laptop comes with 2 DDR4 RAM Slots, out of which 1 slot is used default with 8GB RAM and user manual says 12 GB is the highest capacity, well i have installed 8 GB RAM in slot 2 and its working pretty fine. So total memory of my laptop now stands at 16 GB. Please note that motherboards supports 2133 mhz DDR4 RAM .

Product Using: SAMSUNG 2400 Mhz DDR4 8 GB (Dual Channel) (M471A1K43CB1 CRC PC4 19200).

Attaching some pictures for reference.

Hope this help many users here. Cheers and Enjoy 🙂
