Pavilion 6650Z

About a week or two ago, my PC started making a loud, grinding noise at start-up. The noise would continue anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes before it stops, and the noise would restart (then stop) again after awakening from sleep mode. I opened the right side panel (looking from the front of the PC) to listen for the source, and the noise seems to be coming from the power supply, possibly the fan inside. Is there anything I can do to try and fix it? I've read somewhere that cleaning the power supply may help, but it seems to be situated in such a way that I can't reach it easily -- I can't seem to find a way to open the other side panel closer to the power supply. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank you so much for your response, @The_Fossette! My computer is a Pavilion P6650Z (I accidentally posted in the Notebooks forum instead of the Desktop forum, but couldn't figure out how to move the post.)

I'm dealing with some health issues right now so troubleshooting the PC will have to wait a while... As soon as I'm able I'll give your suggestions a try and report back.
