Hi all, I have a problem with a HP spectre x360 13" 2018 (ae019nl)  in pen writing mode. The problem lies in the fact that on the right side of the screen I often can not write the letter or is badly written. I tried to flip the screen and the problem appears especially on the left side as I would expect but also in the right that before did not present problems (left with the screen not turned upside down).

However, I attach two videos that I did in both cases to understand better:

@GiuseppeF5

Welcome to the HP Forums,

We'll be with you until it's all sorted.

(you've got a great handwriting) 😉

That said, I needed to know if you've attempted to replace the active pen batteries to check if it works better?

Also, have you updated the drivers for the graphics card, Chipset, and BIOS?

(Click here to find and install the same, if you haven't done it yet)

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

If the pen does not write consistently while your fist or palm is touching the screen, make sure the pen tip is 5mm or farther from the point where your hand is contacting the screen.

If the touchscreen responds slowly to input, you might need to update the firmware for the touchscreen.

  1. Go to the HP Software & Driver Downloads page.

  2. Type your model number in the Enter your HP product name, product number or serial number box, for example, HP Spectre 15-bl000 x360 Convertible PC, and then click Find.

If a list of model numbers displays, select your model number from the list.

The Software and driver results in page for your model displays.

  3. Make sure the Detected operating system is correct. If necessary, click Change, select your operating system and version, and then click Change.

  4. Click Firmware.

  5. If a firmware update is available for the touchscreen, click Download next to the update.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the firmware update.

Keep me posted, as I (Or a trusted colleague) shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,

And your device is up and running again, only in case you don't get back to us, first!

That said, If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us, and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

Unfortunately the pen battery (Hp tilt pen) is not replaceable, I recharge it with the cable.
The drivers are all updated to the latest version.

I had already tried to write without touching with the palm of the hand but with the same result.

Thank you for responding,

This is the Riddle_Decipher, again!

Did you check the updated compatibility list for the stylus on HP x360? Click here, if you haven't.

Also, if the device is compatible and yet isn't working, I suggest you create a new user account and check if that works,

If nothing helps, you may want to run an extensive system test using the hardware diagnostics tool: Click here for steps.

Keep us posted,

(We shall troubleshoot as a team, fight till the end and emerge - "victorious")

Have a great day!

I did not understand, I should check if my pen is compatible with the notebook? They are sold together.

I ran the Hardware Diagnostic Tool which tells me it's all right
