when you enter the BIOS support page, click on the BIOS link to download it, and then double click on windows to run it, then start the update which should never be interrupted because it can damage the device forever.

So I downloaded the bios and did the update yesterday but didn't do the f10 and f9 on restarting. 

Do I need to re-download before trying this?

Just tried this and hasn't worked unfortunately. USB c port still not working for both devices and charging

I think you should take the laptop to a trusted technician to verify that the port is not damaged.
