24 gigs? No. The maximum is 16 gigs. You have a 4 gig module and an 8 gig module and to get to 16 gigs you have to remove the 4 gig module and replace it with an 8 gig module. This is not a simple procedure and requires significant disassembly and technical skills.

Memory upgrade is shown on p. 55 of the Manual here:

Service Manual

8 gig module part number:

8-GB (DDR3L-1600) 693374-005

I see no need to buy 2 x 8 gig memory sticks to assure compatibility. The above will be compatible for half the price.

I suggest using the System Scanner at www.Crucial.com to let it analyze your computer and tell you what is possible.

Based on selecting the Pavilion 15-ABxxxx as the model,  it appears as though they only sell a kit to increase your maximum ram to 16gb (2 x 8gb sticks).    If you're at 12gb already, you likely installed a 4gb stick in addition to the 8gb that came with it and therefore could replace a 4gb with a single 8gb stick.  Or to ensure you get 2 identical chips,  order the 16gb kit from Crucial for $62.

I still recommend using their scanner to ensure what I found is 100% accurate.
