I  have HP Pavilion x360  which came with Intel Optane 16gb

 

and I am planing  to replace it with  SSD 

 but i don't  know which one will  fit  

i saw there are  PCIe gen 3 and gen 4  but  I don't  know which one I  have and does all SSD   M.2  fit  even if they are different gen?

@AbuRyan Yes, you can replace the Optane memory with a M.2 NVMe SSD or a M.2 SATA SSD however, I must let you know that HP does not recommend upgrades or hardware changes as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance by design, that said, the upgradeable parts listed by HP articles are purely for your ease, as the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion.

 

Steps-

For more details on removing the optane memory: click here & visit page. 37 Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures

Remember to get the SSD that fits in your Slot. Genereally, 22mm by 80mm SSD.
