Hi:

I don't see any SD card reader drivers on your notebook's support page.

So, I don't know what model SD card reader your notebook uses.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if installing this W10 Realtek SD card reader works.

Most HP notebooks of that era came with a Realtek SD card reader.

Good morning

thanks for the reply, I tried to install the drivers downloaded from the link he sent me but the problem remains, the PC does not recognize the SD card.

From Device Manager I saw that the SD card chipset should be Intel

Is there any other test to run?

thank you

You're very welcome, Massimo.

Unfortunately, since everything seems to be functioning properly according to the device manager status, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

It could be that the actual read hardware is defective.

I once had a HP nc6400 notebook with a Texas Instruments SD card reader and in the device manager, everything looked fine, but when I inserted a SD card, nothing happened.

I tested the card in another nc6400, and it worked just fine, so I concluded the hardware that reads the card was damaged.
