Hello,
I want to activate sim card on my elitebook 8540p, i puted the sim card on it place behinde the battery but i don't know what kinde of programe nide to be installed on my compioter.
On my HP 6540p I have two systems Windows 7 (64-bit) and Ubuntu 16.04. who cane give to me a solution for both systems?

Did you install the W7 mobile broadband software and driver for the model WWAN card you have?

Found under the networking driver section--You need either the Ericsson or the Qualcomm Gobi.
Also check chapter 2, page 21 of the user guide below for some general guidance.

As far as for using the broadband card on the other operating system, unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to offer any suggestions for that.

Hi:
In addition to a SIM card, your notebook also has to have the optional mobile broadband (WWAN) card.
Most notebooks don't come with that device as it is rather an expensive option.
But if your notebook does not have that mobile broadband card, inserting the SIM card in the slot will not work.
