Hi:

I don't believe the HP Support Assistant is sending you the right BIOS update.

The latest one on the support page is F.27 Jul 18, 2018 -- sp88923

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15-ac000-notebook-pc-series/7771404/model/868769...

The HP support assistant is mis-reading your notebook as a HP 250 G4, which is the business model equivalent of the HP 15-ac### model series, and the older BIOS versions were the same.

But if you look at the release notes for the update, there was even an older version still not on your notebook's support page (sp93116), which was version F.28.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp96501-97000/sp96831.html

Check your notebook's system information and see if F.29 actually got installed.

If not, I recommend you quit trying to update the BIOS while you are ahead, and delete the update notification in the support assistant program, either way.
