spectre x360 13t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop gets stuck for a few seconds i feel its something with the display cause the arrow pointer moves on every second time i try to move it, in simple words there is always a 2 second lag in it.
It keeps lagging until its completely stuck forever and then i have to shut the lid and open it back to solve the problem temporarily. This whole thing gets even worse when i attach an external mouse and keyboard to the laptop.
Can some one solve or help me solve this issue ?

@Jackson97 I went through the post you've linked and if the issue is same as the OP, I suggest you perform a hardware test to ensure this isn't a hardware malfunction, here's what I suggest you do:

Install the latest version of the HP Hardware diagnostics (UEFI) on your device using this link: Click here for details

  • Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  • Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  • On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
  • Click Extensive Test.
  • Click Run once, or Loop until error.
  • While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.

If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.

@Jackson97

Try these steps to update the computer -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Let me know.

I tried doing the suggested but did not get the desired result.

All the components passed the test without any errors reported.

In fact the laptop got more sluggish after performing the tests, now i have to type and wait for the word to appear on the screen at least this wasn't the case earlier.

Updates are all on and software/drivers are all up to date.

Even if I disable the updates somehow it still get and update and notifies me.

After every update the laptop hangs up a lot fells like the laptop takes it time to get adjusted to the new updates.

After a few days it starts performing normally and then another update appears so the same cycle gets repeated again n again. Dont know if its a hardware, software compatibility issue or what.

@Jackson97 If the device hangs up when installing normal updates as well, you may want to create a backup of all your personal data and perform a system reset using the steps mentioned in this link: click here for details.

@Jackson97 I wish it didn't come to this, but if you've done everything and yet the issue persists, this is most likely a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details.
