Hi

Which SSD drive and caddy supported with  HP Notebook - 15-bs615tu. And if any SSD / caddy is supported then can I add it in by swapping dvd drive?

Also what is the SATA version in this laptop?

Here is the Service Manual:

You now have a 2 TB 5400 rpm SATA 2.5 inch hard drive. You can replace it with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. You would need no other hardware to do so just reuse the hardware currently holding the hard drive. 

You have a DVD writer so you could theoretically remove it and replace it with an otical drive adapter caddy. You could for example place a 256 gig 2.5 inch SATA SSD to use for Windows and place your 2 TB drive in the optical caddy to use for storage. 

One more option you have is to add a 2280 form factor SATA-3 M.2 "gumstick" type mSSD for which you would need no hardware at all to mount.

The M.2 disk slot in this picture is just to the left of the hard drive and you mount the gumstick disk at right angles to the hard drive. You would use something like a Samsung 860 M.2 or WD Blue SATA M.2.

The SATA version is 6gb/s aka SATA-3

Not sure why when I calledHP support to check if this laptop supports SSD the answer was no and they told me ithat the sata version is SATA 1.
