Yes, from my research, and the online specifications, your model of computer does not seem to offer that option.

your original disk-drive is "1TB 5400 RPM".

This is a disk-drive with a SATA interface.

Most SSD devices have a SATA interface.  I exclude "mini-SATA" ('mSATA') devices, which are relatively recent on the market, and typically are used on "tablet" devices.

So, I see no reason why you cannot use a SSD.

Very few notebook computers have a second "drive-bay" (with power and data connectors and mounting hardware).

Maybe, put the SSD inside your computer, and connect an external disk-drive to a USB port.

For your notebook, I do not see an option for a removable "drive-tray" that would hold any 2.5-inch "spinning" drive or an SSD device and be "swappable".

Correct?
