Dear sir/ Madam

1) Can i use caddy in my optical storage for upgradation of SSD in addition with my HDD.

2) How many sata III ports are available in my laptop .

HP Recommended

You have a single SATA-III port and it is in the 2.5 inch hard drive bay. You can put an SSD or HDD in an optical caddy but it would not be bootable and would not run at its highest and best speed. Your best upgrade path is to place a 2.5 inch SATA SSD inside the laptop where the hard drive is now and if you need more storage space, put the hard drive in an optical bay
