my h/p 13" notebook has a storage capacity of 29.00 GB. Windows takes up 20.00 GB space. Any updates-cannot update-"a memo say to free up space". But I have a 500.00 GB external USB attached to the USB slot on this PC. I have also designated on my storage to divert all contents to my SDXC(D) drive. But the PC does not recognise the SD storage, How do i fix this problem.

The solution given in your answer is a hassle + for the experts-not a novice.
My problem is that I have an 500GB SD card attached to my PC slot. I have instructed under STORAGE Menu -to change "where new content is saved". By Default. Simple. But this hp PC cant seem to be able to follow my instruction. When updates come in on a regular basis, hp instead of directing the new content to my SD card it continues to find space on my "C" Drive thereby issuing a please free space.
So why does HP have a Storage Option in their system to save to an external SD by default but simply cant carry it out. So is there a way I can override the hp handicap to save in C drive when I have ample space on my SD card? That is my question!
If not I have reached the 29GB max storage. Next stage I will dig up my XP or my Window 7 and ditch my hp. And that is my solution.
