storage upgrade for HP Notebook

Hi there,

I want to upgrade my storage for HP Notebook . I want to install a m.2 ssd and need some guidance while selecting the right ssd for my laptop. My laptop is already 5 years old so I am not interested in getting an expensive ssd. Keeping in mind my budget constraints I am thinking of getting one from Western Digital (link is below). Please let me know if this will be compatible with my laptop and if it would be a good investment.

Hi:

Yes, that drive should work just fine, since it is a SATA M.2 SSD and that is the only type the 15-bsXXX model series supports as is indicated in chapter 1 of the service manual.

For the low price it has, it is a good bargain and has decent quality.

The manual indicates you can install up to 2 x 8 GB of memory in your notebook for a total of 16 GB.

The parts list indicates that your notebook comes with a 4 GB DDR4-2666 MHz memory chip.
