my keypad keeps sticking. I am unable to log this directly with HP as I am out of hours. Quite why I can't email them to log this, I have no idea.

Hi @Sam1294,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I completely understand how frustrating it is when your keypad keeps sticking, especially when you're trying to get work done and can't even log the issue with HP because it's outside support hours. It’s like being locked out of your own workspace, and not being able to email them just adds to the helplessness. You're not alone in feeling this way. Let’s ensure you’re not left waiting. Here are options and a few suggestions to help you move forward:

What You Can Do Right Now

Use HP’s Virtual Agent (Available 24/7)

HP offers a Virtual Chat Assistant that can help you log the issue, guide you through basic troubleshooting, and even initiate a repair request if needed.

Try These Quick Fixes for Sticky Keys

If you haven’t already, here are some sensory-friendly steps you can try:

  • Gently clean the keys using a soft cloth slightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Focus on the edges where dust or residue might be causing friction.
  • Use compressed air to blow out debris from under the keys.
  • Check for software issues like Filter Keys or Sticky Keys settings in Windows:
    • Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard and turn off any features that might be interfering.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
