Hi I just got this computer for my day trading purpose: HP Pavilion 15.6" Touchscreen Laptop - 10th Gen Intel Core i7-1065G7 - 4GB GeForce MX250 - 1080p - Windows 10 Professional.
In the system>about, it shows that this computer has a core processor listed as "intel(R) core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @1.30GHz 1.50GHz". After reading this value back to the tech staff at Fidelity, I was told this processor is at low end for day trading, and he suggests me to buy one that has 3GHz processor. Does the computer I just got has a 1.3 GHz core processor? Can somebody confirm this issue? Does HP has a laptop that comes with a 3.0 GHz processor? Thanks for your help.

Its specs
It will run at Base speed of 1.3GHz to 1.5GHz and will run at 3.9GHz when required.
Hope this makes sense.
Regards.

Hi Banhien,
Thanks for your help.
I did go over the link you provide and it says:
"Max turbo frequency is the maximum single core frequency at which the processor is capable of operating using Intel® Turbo Boost Technology and, if present, Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost. Frequency is typically measured in gigahertz (GHz), or billion cycles per second."
I have a couple of questions: (1) In the link you provide, it mentions "if present", so is the computer I just goy already installed with this Intel® Turbo Boost Technology? (2) in your message, you mentioned "will run at 3.9GHz when required", does that mean during data streaming, 3.9GHz will be trigged and used? Sorry for these naïve questions and thank you so much for your help.

Not really data streaming is not a heavy work. You need a heavier work such as video rendering or heavy games to drive CPU/processor up. Machine should have Intel® Turbo Boost Technology by default.
Processor won't stay at its top speed too long, that can be few miliseconds or nanoseconds.
Regards.

Hi Banhien,
Thanks for your help.
Due to my poor knowledge, I am confused by what you said in your last email:
Processor won't stay at its top speed too long, that can be few miliseconds or nanoseconds.
Does this mean, I should get a laptop with 3.0 GHz processor to do the trading job as told by the person in Fidelity?
Thanks.

Hi Banhien,
I talked to the tech staff at Fiedlity, and mentioned the issue regarding the speed of core processor as you indicated that "Machine should have Intel® Turbo Boost Technology by default and speed can be boosted up to 3.0 GHz if required". He told me that I may need to go to "setting" to change it. Is this ture? If yes, how to do it? Thank you so much for your help again.
