Hey there! @pavan511, Thank you for joining the HP Forums!

I understand you have touchpad issues with your laptop.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your laptop?

Please provide the product number of your laptop to assist you better.

As you mentioned the touchpad lock has stopped functioning on your laptop.

Try double tapping on the top left of the trackpad and check if the touchpad is locked.

Try the steps recommended below.

1.In the search box type mouse in the search field.

2.Select Mouse from the list of options.

3.Click the Device Settings tab.

4.From the Devices list, select Synaptics LuxPad V7.5, and then click Settings....

5.Double-click Tapping. The Tapping window displays.

6.Uncheck Double Tap to Enable or Disable TouchPad.

7.Click Close, and then click OK.

8.In the Mouse Properties window, click Apply.

If the issue persists uninstall the touchpad drivers from device manager and install touchpad drivers using HP recovery manager and check if it helps.

Refer this article to know how to restore drivers using HP recovery manager.

Also, update the BIOS and touchpad drivers using HP support assistant if the issue persists.
