trying to boost gaming performance on laptop

ok so im trying to increase the gaming performance on my 15-ba061dx. it has the AMD A12-9700P APU and i just upgraded the ram to 16gb DDR4...(a little overkill for this laptop but it works.) any tips on how to get the most out of this APU and boost my gaming performance is welcome. thanks

HP 15 notebook is not designed for gaming, it's purpose if everyday computing and hence I would request you not to overload the computer with HD games as this computer cannot handle it, to know about HP Laptops designed for gaming: Click here

You could try reducing the resolution on the in-game settings and switch the windows settings to performance rather than visual effects to make a minor change, however, the game may heat up your PC, hence make sure you are using a cooling pad as well, to be on a safer side.

Here's how you change windows settings:

• Go to Start Menu > click on Settings.
• Type performance > choose Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows. 
• In the new window, go to the Visual Effects and select Adjust for best performance.
• click Apply and ok...this should do the trick.

Alternatively, you may try to update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC either from our HP support website, using this link or download it using HP support Assistant. 

You can update other drivers on the PC using the HP support assistant.

thanks for the replay. i have everything up to date and already did as you listed. i was hoping to find a way to maybe force the clock speed to run at max  something. after looking around online alote it looks like im stuck with what i have unless i want to set up a egpu witch would help but not worth it price wise in my opinion.

I would like to inform you that the fan functions are system managed and there is no HP tools or options to turn on or off the system fan manually.

I'm afraid that's how the HP device is designed, making changes to fan speed may cause overclocking or over-throttling causing hardware malfunctions within the device and hence is not recommended or supported by HP.

If your device is overheating, please remember the below information:

NOTE: Generally, when temperatures inside the case rise above 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit), the risk of damaging important internal components increases greatly.

Also, to avoid the CPU damage, we do not recommend throttling or overclocking the CPU, I recommend you refrain from using high-performance games on this laptop as it's not built for the same.

I would suggest you refer to the support documents as this will help you in resolving the issue.

Let's start off by updating the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Regarding eGPU, purchasing a eGPU would be more costlier than purchasing the PC. hence, I would personally suggest the best option would be to purchase a new computer.
