Turn off overtype windows 11

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To switch between overtype mode and insert mode on supported HP computers, use the Insert function key.
 

  • Press the Insert key if your keyboard has one.
     
  • On some HP products, you might need to press fn + E to turn on the insert function.
     
  • Some HP keyboards also include an action key that switches between:

    • Overtype mode: the cursor overwrites existing text
       
    • Insert mode: the cursor inserts characters at the current position

If overtype is on, pressing the Insert function again usually turns it off.
