To switch between overtype mode and insert mode on supported HP computers, use the Insert function key.

Press the Insert key if your keyboard has one.
On some HP products, you might need to press fn + E to turn on the insert function.
Some HP keyboards also include an action key that switches between:
- Overtype mode: the cursor overwrites existing text
- Insert mode: the cursor inserts characters at the current position

If overtype is on, pressing the Insert function again usually turns it off.
