I want to set the thermal profile to 'Cool' because my laptop fans aren’t performing optimally. However, I can't find the thermal profiles option in the HP Command Center; instead, there’s only an option for Network Booster. I looked online and found that thermal profiles might have been moved to the MyHP app, but I can't find them there either.

Hi @Prateek_Dahiya1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the thermal profile option may be missing or moved in your HP Pavilion Laptop. Here's what you can try to resolve this issue.
Ensure HP Command Center is Up to Date
Sometimes features get relocated or altered in newer software updates. First, make sure the HP Command Center is fully updated:
- Open the Microsoft Store app.
- Search for HP Command Center and check if any updates are available.
- Install any pending updates.
Check the MyHP App
As you mentioned, the thermal profiles might have been moved to the MyHP app. Try the following:
- Open the MyHP app.
- Look for settings related to Thermal Profiles or Power Settings.
- If thermal profiles are available, you should be able to select Cool from there.
Check BIOS Settings
Some thermal settings are also controlled from the BIOS, especially for fan speeds or cooling options:
- Reboot your laptop and press ESC or F10 to enter the BIOS menu.
- Look for settings under System Configuration or Advanced related to thermal management or cooling.
- If available, you can adjust settings here.
Use HP Support Assistant
If the options are still unavailable, try reinstalling or checking for updates using HP Support Assistant:
- Open HP Support Assistant (you can find it in the Start Menu).
- Go to Check for Updates to ensure all your drivers, including for thermal management, are up to date.
- Sometimes, specific software packages related to thermal management are installed through this app.
Reinstall HP Command Center
If none of the above works, try reinstalling the HP Command Center:
- Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Uninstall HP Command Center and restart your laptop.
- Download and reinstall it from the official HP website or Microsoft Store.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Ensure HP Command Center is Up to Date
- The HP Command Center is already up to date.
Check the MyHP App
- The MyHP app only shows an option for audio control.
Check BIOS Settings
- I found an option for "Fan Always On" in the BIOS, which I enabled, but it did not resolve the issue.
Use HP Support Assistant
- All drivers and software are up to date.
Reinstall HP Command Center
- I tried reinstalling HP Command Center, but it didn’t help.
My Actual Problem:
My laptop is overheating (on plug), and when I ran a stress test using Intel XTU, the package temperature spiked from 47°C to 99°C within 2 seconds. To address this, I replaced the thermal paste, but even after successfully applying the new paste, the stress test results remained the same.
I’ve been searching for thermal profile settings, hoping they might be set to "Quiet" by mistake, but I can't find this option anywhere. I’m unable to use software necessary for my work because the laptop keeps overheating. I even tried using a cooling pad, but it didn’t make much difference.
This is happening while the laptop is plugged into AC power.
