Hello i need some advice before i open my laptop here. my laptop has a 7mm 1tb 2.5 hard drive and 16GB intel optane. i bought a 2tb 2.5 7mm SSD. i have cloned the system, but when i go to install it. and remove the intel optane memory. how do i tell the laptop not to use Optane anymore. i do see a software on the computer in the programs called Intel Optane Memory Storage and performance. Do i need to go in here? any help is appreciated as i am trying to keep all the original HP software installed apart from bloatware. i do have a copy of the restore software from HP on a flash drive. thanks for any help.

Hi,
You should be able to disable it in BIOS and in IRST software. If you cloned the whole system it should be booting from the SSD in any case. You could have replaced the optane with an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD.
Take a look at the end of this page under headings
How do I enable or disable the Intel Optane memory in system BIOS?
How do I enable or disable the Intel Optane memory with Intel RST?

Hope it helps,
