Hi:

Unfortunately, that would not be possible since the processor is an integral part of the motherboard.

The only way to upgrade the processor would be to replace the motherboard with one listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual that may come with a better processor.

Hi, I really appreciate you taking your time to help HP customers it really helped me, if it’s not to much I would like to ask you if you can help me by telling me what motherboard can I replace it to ? is it possible with intel i5 or i7. ? The reason it’s because I have upgraded the hardrive for an SSD and now my i3 5010U is all ways max out at 2.10GHz so the laptop works ok but most times it’s to much for the processor and I get the windows blue screen, again I really appreciate your time and help

You're very welcome.

For the i7, it appears you would need this motherboard and part number, as it is the only one I could see on the list that has an i7 processor, a Windows product key in the BIOS and uses the onboard Intel graphics.

Intel Core i7-5500U (2.4 GHz, SC turbo up to 3.0 GHz), 1600 MHz/4 MB L3, Dual 15 W for use with Windows Professional HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC   HP part # 799547-601

For the i5, I don't see any listed that come with the onboard Intel graphics adapter.

Where you would be able to find the above motherboard for your notebook, that I do not know.

HP does not sell the motherboard.

If you have not upgraded the memory, you may want to add another 8 GB memory chip to the existing one.

This should be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your notebook.

first thank you so much for doing all of that search and finding me a compatible processor, the intel i7 5500U it’s slow and I am getting 2.9 GHz with my i3 2010U so I don’t think it will worse it, my last question is do you think if I add another 8Gb of memory it will make any difference has at most times my HP laptop playing a youtube video the memory usage is about 51% ? Again I really appreciate your time and help and sorry for bothering you

You're very welcome.

I'd try the memory upgrade first because it would be easier and less expensive than replacing the motherboard.

Not only will you double the memory, but it will also run in the higher performing dual channel mode instead of the single channel mode that it is running in now.
