I need to upgrade my media driver to make new social media productions. I don't need a new laptop, but I do need advice on which motherboard to install for the Windows 11 and more to be supported...
Does anyone have any solid advice as to which one to get??
I see a lot of Intel core i7's are compatible, but I'm not sure which one fits my computer, and HP Support wants money to answer questions.

Hi:
Personally, I would not invest hundreds of dollars to upgrade the motherboard in your notebook because that is probably how much it would cost to do so.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook's model series.
You would need one of the four motherboards listed in chapter 3, page 15 that have an Intel 8th gen core processor.
If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.

So... the listed items on page 15 are replacement parts. I'm looking to upgrade to the next relevant driver. Sorry to ask so many simple questions, but this is new to me. I know I can work around the windows 11 error message, but I'm thinking it would be wiser to invest in a new system board that would work with on a new level.
Which newer cpu fits my M7?

I was wrong.
The motherboards listed in chapter 3 on page 15 are the only ones that have a W11-supported processor, but they can only be used in the computer models with model numbers 17-u200 through 17-u299.
The only supported motherboards for your notebook's model series do not come with processors that support W11.
You can try the W11 workaround, or you will need to invest in a new PC that has hardware support for W11.
