upgrade to 24gb or 32gb RAM for HP OMEN HP - 15-ce026tx model

Hi I want to upgrade my ram from 16gb to 24 or 32 gb but was told that this laptop can only support 16gb ram. Has anyone insert a single piece 16gb ram to the slot and still work?

I bought this to edit 4k video so its a bummer when i realised this limitation

Each slot support max 8gb. Total 16gb max as tested and released by HP for your Omen model series.

16 gigs is the "official" maximum but it is pretty well known it will actually take 32 gigs as will most models with 7th gen and higher Intel Core processors and DDR4 memory. You will even see these being sold on amazon.com and elsewhere by resellers with 32 gigs of RAM:

Cool ! Really happy to hear this. But i have yet to see a model similar to mine (15-ce026tx) that is upgraded to 32gb. I do understand that there are variation models of omen that can be upgraded to 32gb.

I just don't want to spend the money on the ram and end up not being able to use.

And since it is not official I am not going to guarantee it. 32 gigs is what like $350 now? But all these machines have basically the same hardware so you can be as certain as possible it will work.

Just found this comment and wonder if anyone have been able to test/confirm it 24 or 32 GB RAM will work for above configuration...as I assume if so it will also work for mine -15-ce009no model (configurated for 2 x 8GB , with Intel Kaby Lake).....

I upgraded to 32gb ram Crucial since March 2018. So far so good 🙂

I have updated my Omen 15-ce009no with;

KINGSTON HYPERX IMPACT (2X16GB) DDR4 SODIMM CL 15 2666

..and it works without problems..
