Hello there , 

I got my laptop short time ago and I have two empty mempory slots but with only one 8GB RAM stick . is it possible to upgrade into 32 GB or 16GB and fill both slots or is the maximum RAM 8GB as I am afraid the system and processor would not be sufficient to use any extra RAM

Your model supports 2 x 8 GB of memory.

 

Below is the link to the service manual.  Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info.
