Read my prior post. There is no possible way to put an internal 5 ghz capable card inside the laptop. Not perfect, and I hate to have to recommend it, but there is always a usb wireless adapter option. Don't shoot the messenger. I do not work for HP; I am just telling facts.

Hello,

Since you mentioned that you need to chage the frequency band to 5Ghz. It is not possible as the maximum frequency band that this card can run is 2.4Ghz Only with data transfer speed of 300Mbps. However you can change the channel settings in the router and check whether that works.

He means he wants to change out his wireless card. The problem is that the specified product is subject to the wireless "whitelist" which will block the use of all but the originally offered wireless card with an HP Part No.

The "list" is on p. 58 of the Manual here:

None operates in the 5 ghz band and the wireless card is extremely trick to access in any event. Tweaking the channel of the router looks like the only possible way to improve the signal.
