envy x360 15" 2017

hello,

can anyone tell me what the lightning icon means next to the usb-c port on the new line of envy devices for 2017 ?

i would hope it is a thunderbolt 3 capable port but the specs don't mention this ? :indifferent:

Yes the lighning bolt is proprietary and can only appear next to a Thunderbolt 3 compatible port.

ok, so why would hp not mention this ???

this could be (is in my case) a make or break reason why someone would by the new envy x360 15 inch

their products look good, but their marketing is confusing to say the least

Hi,

According to the user manual, the icon is charging feature. You can charge USB device even if the unit is in off state. Thunderbolt icon looks similar to this one but one side has arrow.
