i want to upgrade my ram and storage but the slots had this black plastic sticker thing. So if i remove it will it void my warranty?

The big plastic thing with lettering on it is your Lithium-Ion battery.
Here is the service manual for your model -- and it shows what options are available and how to replace parts: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06657369
But ... if you damage anything in the process ... that WILL void the battery and HP will no longer service it for free.
