Hi @basegmez00
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I understand the concern with the integrated camera not being detected or unable to capture video. Thank you for sharing the system specifications. We can work through a few checks that commonly help restore camera functionality on business notebooks using the Intel Core i5-8350U platform.
Please try the following steps:
Check the Camera in Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.
- If the HP camera is listed:
- Right-click it and select Disable device.
- Wait a few seconds, then select Enable device.
- If you see a yellow warning icon, right-click the camera and choose Uninstall device, then restart the PC.
Verify Camera Privacy Settings
- Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
- Turn on Camera access.
- Turn on Let apps access your camera.
- Ensure the application you are testing is allowed to use the camera.
Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
- Turn off the notebook.
- Power it on and repeatedly tap F2.
- Open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run the Component Tests > Camera test if available.
- Note any failure ID or test result displayed.
Update the Camera Driver
- Open Device Manager.
- Right-click the camera device and select Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart the notebook after the update completes.
Install HP Support Assistant Updates
- Open HP Support Assistant.
- Check for and install all available:
- BIOS updates
- Chipset updates
- Camera-related drivers
- Restart the device after the updates are installed.
Reset the Camera Application
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
- Locate Camera.
- Select Advanced Options.
- Choose Repair.
- If the issue continues, select Reset.
Check BIOS Settings
- Restart the notebook and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
- Look for an Integrated Camera or Webcam setting under Security or Advanced options.
- Confirm it is Enabled.
- Save changes and exit.
Perform a Power Reset
- Shut down the notebook.
- Disconnect all external devices.
- If the battery is removable, remove it.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect power and start the notebook.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
