i want to upgrade my laptop memory from 8gb to more than 16gb but in the website it sais Supports up to 16 GB max system memory so im asking if that means that the maximum memory i can put in my pc is a 2*8gb memory card or 2*16gb memory card because currently it has 2*4gb memory card

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates that 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory is supported.

Two SODIMM slots, customer accessible/upgradeable

Supports up to 32 GB maximum system memory in the following configurations:

 

HP just left out the 2 x 16 GB memory configuration from the list.

 

The Crucial memory report for the model series also indicates that 2 x 16 GB of memory is supported:
