Envy x360 15-U437CL
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My laptop stopped net although completely charged. The power button appears to be useless. After opening the laptop, I found that the little cliker on the board was broken. Not having the means to solder it, I am looking to buy a new one but i couldn't find the right board on Ebay or on Google.

Any advice about the part number and where to buy it from?

Hi,

I believe that it is the wrong service manual supplied on HP support page for your model.

So, if we go to HP partsurfer and insert your model we see that the powerboard with cable has part number

830190-001 which is most likely the correct part.

http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?type=PROD&SearchText=M1W64UA

Here on ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/830190-001-HP-15-U483cl-Power-Bottom-Board/162783448491?_trkparms=aid%3D222...

or HP parts store:

https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/Search_Results.aspx?mscssid=1D5525C8520D408AAF955574930467CD&SearchIn=P...

Does that look like the correct button?

Let me know,

David

Hi,

The part number of the power button is 774599-001

You can try HP parts store:

https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/Search_Results.aspx?mscssid=B579CC325CC34F049914306D81880441&SearchIn=P...

or online:

On page 44 of service manual you can see the steps to replace button.

Many Thanks David for the prompt and insightful reponse!

I had found that part number after an internet seach and did locate amazon and some sellers on ebay. However, the power button pictures and their wirings (visibe from the pictures of the bottom of the board) appear to be different. The holes for the fixing screws appear also to be different in number and location on the board (besides the main hole that is used for the sole screw).

Is it still ok to try this board as a replacement?

Thanks

Millions of Thanks David!!

This appears to be it from that picture on ebay (even though the pic is too small and cannot be zoomed into).

By the way, is there a manual for this Envy laptop model??

Why is this one solved if HP can't help?  I've got the same issue with my HP x360 Envy and cannot get an answer.  First it was the case ($214), then the motherboard ($500), and still no certainty that it will be fixed.

Anyone again to help here?  These HP Envys with the power buttons on the side seem defective.  I envy anyone who didn't get one....

Actually, the correct part with the side opening and 2 holes can be found here -

I had this exact problem with my U473CL and this is the part I purchased that was the exact replacement.
