HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC with a Intel i5 2430M, Sandy Bridge - now I want to upgrade my RAM. Supports the mainboard (HP, Model: 17FA 10.5A) and BIOS F.1C two 8GB DDR3 diveces with 1,35V - so in total 16GB DDR3? Supports the mainboard 16GB or ony 8GB? The i5 2430M should support 16GB.
Or is the mainboard only running with DDR3 and 1,5V?

Thanks a lot and kind regards

Thomas

Ich möchte bei mein Notebook HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC mit einem Intel i5 2430M, Sandy Bridge den Arbeitsspeicher aufrüsten. Unterstützt das Mainboard (HP, Model: 17FA 10.5A) und dem BIOS F.1C zwei 8GB DDR3 Riegel mit einer Spannung von 1,35V ==> also in Summe 16GB DDR3? Oder wird vom Mainboard nur 1,5V unterstützt? Sind 16GB (2x8GB) mit dem Mainboard möglich? Laut Intel unterstützt der i5 2430M 16GB.

Vielen Dank und viele Grüße

Thomas

Hi:

Your notebook can support 2 x 8 GB of either DDR3  or DDR3L memory.

DDR3L memory has to run at 1.5V as well as 1.35V in order to meet the DDR3 memory standard.

DDR3 (1.5V) memory will not run at 1.35V.

So whichever memory is easier for you to find, go with that one.
