Hi,
I run my HP g002ax for more performance intensive tasks on AC. Is there any alternative sw from HP with the likes of Battery care function offered by Sony vaio?
I doesn't want the battery to be 100% charged and still connected to the AC source as it will afftect the battery life.
This is a tut from the support site of Sony if you're unaware of what Battery care fn from sony is.

I does it manually by going to devc mgr/batteries/second option()/disable. But I find it a lil odd,and guess it doesn't work either. Please help me out in this regard.
Thanks.

Just found the HP AC power control utility. Twas already there in the computer. Although it lacks the option to set the threshold and has limited control options it does the work for the time being.
Thanks HP! Hope the sw improves to include other features like manually settable threshold value at some point of time

Hello @neozzz,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.
So from what I am understanding, you are trying to get better performance out of your notebook battery.
As far as I know Hp does not have a specific software for getting more performance from your battery.
What I would suggest is to do a battery calibration.
There are different steps depending on your Operating System, so here are some links that may help you out.
Calibrating the Notebook Battery (Windows Vista)
Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 7)
Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 😎
If you could, post back with your full model number and product number and operating system. With that information i could find out more options for you. Here are a couple more links to help you with this.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Hope to hear back from you soon.
Thanks you and have a great day

Sorry to say that your answer is wayy off the mark. @neozzz did not want to increase his battery performance (HP batteries are already pretty good i must say!). What he wanted to know is if there is a way to use the AC power when available without charging the battery after it reaches a certain limit.
Well even i found out the HP AC Power Control utiliy. Hope this does the trick after i make some changes to the power plan settings. But please improve the software and provide some options so that we can set a threshold after which only the AC power is used.
