Hi, I am confronting a problem with my sisters school laptop. She tried turning it on and it crashed. I managed to get it into the recovery environment and reset it but it crashed again. Now its stuck in a boot loop with a window stating that "the computer restarted unexpectedly. Windows installation cannot proceed. click ok to proceed."  I'm trying to reinstall windows via USB but but it cant go through because the bios is locked behind an admin password. I can't reinstall windows  unless I have the password which me or my sister knows and i tried flashing the bios by taking out the battery and leaving alone all day but that didn't work. I don't know what to do at this point please help.

Hello @Sgt_BooMan ,

Welcome to the HP community.

A quick community search for the terms BIOS & Password finds all these posts >here<, which are mainly closed.

Here is HP's official policy regarding BIOS passwords:

According to the Community's Rules of Participation:

4d. No posts shall include instructions/directions intended to bypass or subvert security mechanisms such as lock screens, BitLockers, BIOS lock, passwords, fingerprint/biometry scanners, PINs, or any other safety measures.

Therefore, this topic is being locked.

Best regards
