Hey guys! I need some help. My friend accidently changed my windows 8 password which he can't seem to remember(supposedly). I tried booting into recovery, but it gets me into a blank screen and If i touch the mousepad, the cursor shows up, but nothing more. Also, i don't have any recovery discs. Any solutions? Thanks. My model- HP pavilion g6-2202AX, running on an a4 apu.

Hello Durango123,
I see that you are having trouble accessing the recovery manager.
I would suggest that you try to boot in the recovery manager this way:
- Turn on the computer
- Hold down the "ESC" key
- Start up Menu should display
- Select the Recovery Manager
Let me know if that works. Here is a link with steps to running a system recovery in Windows 8.

I would suggest running the start up test in system diagnostic. You can do that by using these steps:
- Turn on the computer
- Hold down the "ESC" key
- Select System Diagnostic
- Select "Start-up Test"
Let me know if all test pass.

What type of account do you set up? If you forgot the PIN code or Picture password, it's impossible to recover it. If you use either local account or Microsoft account, you can then reset the password using PCUnlocker. Additionally, there is the sticky keys features which is built-in to Windows and you can take advantage of it to remove your forgotten password, but it's a bit complicated.

This procedure is rather involved. Please read the entire article and only proceed if you feel comfortable doing so. This is not something for a novice or the faint of heart to attempt.

Step 1: Download and install Windows Password Key in another accessible PC.
Step 2: Run the downloaded file and install it.
Step 3: Burn a reset disk with Windows Password Key.
Step 4: Remove the password with the burned disk.

Thax ,the same thing happened to me, (Forgot Windows 8 password ), i am going to reset Windows 8 password , on a computer, there is a built-in Administrator account with no password. However, if the built-in administrator account has not been enabled, you can enable it with the Windows setup disk.
