Hi,

I have a brand new HP Pavilion g7-1077si notebook, Windows 7 x64. I did a clean install. I found all appropriate drivers on HP's site or newer ones from Intel, Realtek, etc.

I have one item without drivers: "PCI Device". Device manager shows the following hardware Ids for it:

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_166B103C&REV_01

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_166B103C

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF0000

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF00

I searched for 10EC and 5209 and they seem to be Realtek identifiers. My Ethernet port is from Realtek and I'm using the latest drivers from the HP site, and it works well: "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller".

But "PCI Device" still shows. Any help appreciated!

David, they should up you from Associate Dean to Dean Maximus! It worked!

I forgot that Realtek also supplied the cardreader.

Though, I was using NEWER drivers from the Realtek site, isn't that weird? Also I needed to use older HP drivers for the network and other devices too. Newer drivers didn't seem to work (probably strictly OEM).

Hi sydney88,

I saw your posts and will be happy to help. You are going to need to post the same sort of information that the original poster did. Without the hardware id, I am not going to be able to determine what that PCI device could be. The link below will show you how to do your hardware id. Just ignore steps 6 and 7 and post the information here. I will also need to know your operating system and your product number.

Finding hardware id:

Find your product number on a notebook:
