HP 255 G4 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

I had Windows 8, when I bought HP 255 G4 Notebook PC, and then updated it to Windows 10, when is was allowed. But my laptop was working too slow, so I took it to a master to insert an SSD instead of the HDD I had. And he returned me the laptop with not activated Windows 10 and advised me to ask the HP technical support to activate it.

What should I do? Could you help me, please?

Thank you,

Marina

HP can not activate it. Microsoft will have to help with that. When you did the upgrade your machine should have been given a lifetime digital license key stored on MS servers. If the version installed is the same as the one you upgraded to it should have activated automatically when you went online.
