HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I had upgraded to Windows 10 but the new later update to Windows 10 messed up my notebook and it would not start or boot at all.  Used to recovery manager to restore factory setting to Windows 7 premium but that failed and now I apparently have no operating system.  I need recovery disks to restore the original Windows 7 premium that came on my notebook.  I cannot find how to order them here even though I have tried everything  Please help!  Thank you!

Hi:

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

The product number can be found on the same sticker as the serial number.

The full product number is:   QF761UA#ABA

Hi:

HP no longer sells recovery media for your model notebook.

However, this non-HP vendor still does...

Thank you so VERY much!  I really appreciate it!  Will these recovery disks accept my product key number that is on the sticker on the bottom of my notebook?

HP Recommended

You're very welcome.

Actually, the recovery disks won't need the product key because the software is pre-activated.

If you want to save yourself $27+, you can make your own plain W7 recovery media, and use the product key to reinstall windows...

This site claims to have genuine, unadulterated W7 ISO files for download...

Click on the link labeled Windows ISO Downloader.exe

You can use either the:

Win 7 Home SP1 the (Retail version, but the  OEM key on your PC's case will work with it)

Win 7 Home SP1 COEM (This version would be for what HP would have used--System Builder)

Then you can use this tool I zipped up and attached below, to transfer the file to a 4 GB USB flash drive or a DVD.

Thank you so very much!  I am downloading now and will post again after I see if this works.  Your help is so very much appreciated!

I did everything you said and the setup program begins and then it asks for drivers.  They are not there.  Where and how do I get these drivers?

Did you make a bootable USB flash drive or a DVD?

HP Recommended

A bootable DVD
