I was recently playing an online game when my laptop locked up completely. Getting a caps lock code of 3.2 with complete black screen. I suspect a virus corrupted the motherboard as removing the hard drive and the memory doesn't cause any adjustment in the booting behaviour. So my question is, how do I manually reset the BIOS on this product, as I have no visual feedback?

Hi
Start here....
also......... I use these....

3.2 is a MEMORY issue, if I recall correctly.
So maybe a new stick of RAM?

I'm looking into getting a new RAM stick, as I found the same error code result. However, I don't have much hope for it, as the booting behaviour is the same, with or without the ram installed. The same applies to when I've removed the hard drive. In addition, I learned that the hard drive has been completely corrupted. It's boot behaviour is: when completely powered down, attempts to start, gives up, tries again, starts and begins flashing 3.2 code (the screen is unpowered for both sections) and when starting without clearing power cycle, it goes immediately to flashing 3.2. I have checked out all the manuals, but so far I haven't found anything for manually resetting the bios. By this I mean a method such as removing a cmos battery, connecting jumpers, or anything else of the sort. As far as I can tell, this particular motherboard doesn't have any similar built in functions.

Hi
So if there is a dodgy driver, it can attempt a restart..
Safe Mode for comparison perhaps.
Wake on LAN, Keyboard etc can cause silly things to happen.
BIOS is
Turn on or restart the computer, quickly press ESC, and then press F10.
OR a format and re-install?

Most likely NOT a virus -- as it would not present that way.
Since the PC is a laptop, this HP thread describes the different blink codes: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01732674?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001

The boot up process isn't going far enough to even power on the screen, so I can't enter any commands at all, to include going to the configuration menu. I've tested it with a tv, and the tv isn't receiving input either.
