My HP laptop started restarting out of nowhere in October this year.. At first I thought it was a virus causing the issue but it didn't seem to be the case. The laptop kept restarting so much that it eventually got stuck in a loop where it would attempt to turn on but then turn off. I sent it to Team Knowhow for repairs and it came back completely wiped but it did not continue restarting, or so I thought. It happened again and a couple more times after but I finally realised that it kept restarting because I was applying pressure to the bottom of the laptop from when I pick it up. I'm guessing it's a battery issue but this laptop cannot have its battery removed without tools. I now have to pick it up very carefully from the sides which is very annoying and I am not too eager to send it back for repairs. Anything I can do?

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is restarting when you pick up the laptop.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

I have tried the solution you suggested but it doesn't seem to have any effect. I would also like to note that when I hold my laptop up from the bottom right side, the screen goes black then shuts down. If I do not release the pressure from holding it the screen will remain stay blacked out whilst still on.

I have tried the aforementioned options but none stop it from turning off. Occasionally I get the “Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart” message but other than that, it still shuts off when I pick it up by the bottom right. Will this mean I need to send it for repairs again?

Follow the steps in the below article and perform a system test and let me know the result.

Nothing in the article worked. All the tests were passed. Perhaps there is just a loose cable?
