I would really like help from someone who can give me MPM Access to change BIOS properties. My laptop has incorrect DMI Information after a few HP Cloud Recovery Tool uses and I need to fix it but MPM Access is locked and I can't unlock it. Please help.

Hi @NotToSmart1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding BIOS settings!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

MPM (Manufacturing Programming Mode) access is restricted and cannot be unlocked by end users. your best course of action is to:

Update BIOS

  • Go to HP’s official support page and download the latest BIOS update for your specific model.
  • Run the update and restart your laptop.

Reset BIOS to Default

  • Enter BIOS (F10 at startup) → Select Restore Defaults → Save & Exit.

Let me know if helps. 😊

I've already done these actions over before and they haven't helped 😞 the DMI Information is still incorrect (product name and ID)

Hi @NotToSmart1,

The DMI information in the BIOS is factory-set and unfortunately cannot be modified by users. Let me know if there's anything else I can assist you with.

If the DMI Information "Can't be changed" then why was it changed all of the sudden after using HP Cloud Recovery tool???

HP Recommended

Hi @NotToSmart1,

HP Cloud Recovery Tool likely reset or modified the DMI (Desktop Management Interface) information stored in the BIOS.

The Manufacturer Programming Mode (MPM) is locked by HP to prevent unauthorized tampering.

Only HP authorized technicians can unlock MPM mode to fix DMI information.

I hope this helps.

I'm still really bummed about it, because it has a lot of software issues ever since the DMI Information changed last December and I just don't really know what to do to fix it, even HP support assistant doesn't really know what HP Envy model it is.

Okay I think you guys did something and it's suddenly fixed! Thank you so much! I just have one more off topic question, my Intel ARC GPU keeps asking me to turn on ReBAR in the BIOS and I don't exactly know what it does or how to do it since there's no option within the Bios last time I checked?
