My BIOS has become corrupted (two blinks on the Capslock Key) and it will not boot. The key sequence recovery does not work.
I followed the instructions here (https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833#recover) for creating a flash drive to recover my BIOS up to the point of running the dowloaded BIOS file. Instead of an HP utility like the instructions and video show, I have an InsydeFlash dialog that does not give me an option to create a recovery flash drive (it tries to update the BIOS on my working computer only).
Can you provide me with something that will recover my BIOS?
Thank you,
Ken

Hi
What I do is download the bios file, and I don't know which is yours....
It's something like SP56058.exe, and I use 7zip to Extract to a folder called sp56058
and get a listing like this...
S:\Downloads\sp56058>dir Directory of S:\Downloads\sp56058 09/07/2018 12:35 <DIR> . 09/07/2018 12:35 <DIR> .. 21/12/2011 10:20 2,366,336 01433.fd 04/03/2010 18:28 58,880 AtpTimerInfo.dll 15/01/2008 14:25 105,886 Ding.wav 24/09/2010 17:03 241,664 FlsHook.exe 24/09/2010 17:03 188,416 FlsHookDll.dll 26/01/2010 14:04 944,664 FWUpdLcl.exe 27/09/2010 18:58 774,144 InsydeFlash.exe 27/09/2010 18:54 2,134,016 iscflash.dll 15/09/2010 16:28 22,400 iscflash.sys 15/09/2010 16:21 45,632 iscflashx64.sys 08/10/2010 17:32 26,103 platform.ini 26/01/2010 14:04 1,892,352 xerces-c_2_7.dll 12 File(s) 8,800,493 bytes 2 Dir(s) 197,485,883,392 bytes free
Which may copy and run on a bootable USB stick, or even a if I was desperate a DVD, but I cannot try this theory out.
